Morgan County Allocation Hearings
Thanks to the generosity of the donors of Morgan County the Board of Directors of the United Way of Morgan County met on March 9, 2011, at the RE-3 Administration Building for the annual Allocation Hearings. The 13 member Board, led by President Damon Mussman, was privileged to allocate the most money to our Partner Agencies that has ever been allocated. Thanks to that generosity the goal of $200,000 was met in January thereby giving the Board funds to work with.
The Allocations to our Partner Agencies were as follows:
A Caring Pregnancy Center | $ 9,000.00 |
Adult Basic Education | $ 16,000.00 |
American Red Cross | $ 7,000.00 |
Assn for Children With Disabilities | $ 5,000.00 |
Baby Bear Hugs | $ 12,000.00 |
Blue Horizons | $ 7,000.00 |
Boy Scouts | $ 5,000.00 |
Eben Ezer | $ 15,000.00 |
Girl Scouts | $ 6,000.00 |
Home Run Against Drugs | $ 7,500.00 |
Morgan County Family Center | $ 9.000.00 |
Salvation Army - Brush Unit | $ 9,000.00 |
School of Performing Arts | $ 10,000.00 |
S.A.R.A. | $ 16,000.00 |
SHARE | $ 15,000.00 |
Total | $148,500.00 |
In addition, there are Direct Designations of just under $8,300.00 which will be sent to the Designees. The UW of Morgan County has already given out 2 Venture Grants (one time or start up grants) in the amount of $10,000.00 and has requests for 4 additional Grants. The Board of Directors will be looking at a new type of Grant as the Venture Grant requirements do not apply to some of the non-profits that they would like to endow such as: Blessings in a Backpack, The Production Company, etc.
